This role is 4 days in the office currently with 1 day from home.

Our Head Office is in Billericay, Essex with transport links to Central London, Stratford and Southend. We also offer free parking if you drive to us!


Role Purpose:

Achieve agreed design briefs, through development of creative ideas and using appropriate medium and style, ensuring visual identity of the brand is met.


Main Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Buying (Product) and Design Functions to create new designs for all packaging and point-of-sale solutions according to buyer’s requirement. Create product packaging visuals for new products prior to launch.
  • See projects through from initial design concept to final stage of applying designs to product packaging with ability to manage projects from beginning to end in a timely and efficient fashion.
  • Take inspiration from current and upcoming trends to create new and innovative designs for products packaging.
  • Communicate with the Buying and Design functions in terms of the general look and feel of the ranges ensuring that it meets the brand identity.
  • Be an active part of creating new product packaging ideas that will benefit the business, interpreting and adapting to market trends.
  • Deliver creative concepts for both print and packaging.
  • Liaise with printers and suppliers when needed.
  • Support the Group’s new business projects when required, inclusive of, creative web and marketing graphic design projects.
  • Regularly present creative findings from marketplace to Buying teams with action points and solutions.
  • Create presentations for new business pitches/potential hosts as well as providing branding direction for new business.
  • Produce in house creative design for significant projects such as company booklets and the DCK conference.
  • Support with visual renders/VM creative design solutions for all brands.

Job requirements

Skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Degree or HND qualified in design or similar, with a portfolio that showcases solid conceptual colour, layout and typographical skills.
  • Up to date knowledge of industry software and the ability to competently use Illustrator, photoshop, Adobe suite.
  • Creative flair, enthusiasm for design, ability to visualise, sketch and draw. Strong concept development and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage numerous briefs at any time, with a professional approach to time management, cost control and meeting deadlines.
  • Team player, a flexible approach, able to collaborate with other areas of the business, well organised with good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail, good standard of English language and ability to proofread for accuracy.
